My Place Realty values our relationship with you and want to work with you during these challenging times as the COVID-19 pandemic is now impacting our way of life. &nbsp;<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">We want to make your rent payments and access to all if your information easier by having you register on our Resident Portal. You can do all this from the comfort of your own home. Just visit our website at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.myplace.ca\/\">MyPlace.ca<\/a> and click on <a href=\"https:\/\/myplace.securecafe.com\/residentservices\/apartmentsforrent\/userlogin.aspx\">Resident Portal Service<\/a>. If you need any assistance, please call our Resident Services line at 204-594-5411 for help. &nbsp;<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">As you may have heard, there are government programs being provided to those affected by this COVID-19 crisis. To assist you, we want to inform you of potential aid that may be able to help you through various government programs. They include:<\/h2>\n<ul data-rte-list=\"default\">\n<li>\n<h2 style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">If you lost your job due to COVID-19, you can apply for Employment Insurance benefits.&nbsp; The government recently waived the one-week waiting period, which means you can apply for EI benefits as soon as you lose your job. Please click on the following link: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/department-finance\/economic-response-plan.html\">https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/department-finance\/economic-response-plan.html<\/a><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2 style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Starting in April, if you don&rsquo;t qualify for EI, I just wanted to let you know that the $900 bi-weekly benefit has been replaced with the Canada Emergency Response Benefit. This is $2,000 monthly.<\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2 style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Defer personal tax payments until <span style=\"text-decoration:underline\">after August 31, 2020<\/span> (this applies for any income tax owed between March and September 2020). No penalties or interest will accumulate on the amounts owed during this period.<\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2 style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Take advantage of the six-month interest-free reprieve on student loan payments;<\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2 style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">If you run a small business, contact the federal government to see what is available for businesses facing financial stress as a result of COVID-19;<\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Keep in mind that you may automatically qualify for special top-ups, such as:<\/h2>\n<ul data-rte-list=\"default\">\n<li>\n<h2 style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">The GST credit top-up payment for low-income individuals and families<\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2 style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">The Canada Child Benefit top-up payment for families with children<\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Details on these financial assistance programs are available at: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/department-finance\/economic-response-plan.html\">https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/department-finance\/economic-response-plan.html<\/a> &nbsp;<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">As we all continue to adjust to the COVID-19 situation, please sign up for our Resident Portal for the most current messages from My Place Realty.
