We extend our sincere gratitude to Immigration Centre and Abigail Legaspi, Zonal Outreach for Newcomer Engagement Coordinator, for graciously inviting us to their enlightening networking and meeting on November 22, 2023. The event brought together a diverse group of organizations, fostering an environment where we could collectively learn about newcomer services and establish valuable connections with fellow immigration organizations and Red River College Polytechnic Staff.

The gathering was not just an opportunity to expand our network; it was a platform where ideas were exchanged, experiences shared, and partnerships formed. Abigail Legaspi's efforts as the Zonal Outreach Coordinator were evident in the seamless organization of the event, ensuring a smooth and enriching experience for all attendees.

A highlight of the evening was the insightful talk by Carla Kematch, Director of Truth and Reconciliation and Community Engagement. Carla's words resonated deeply as she delved into the critical topic of Truth and Reconciliation. Her perspective shed light on the importance of acknowledging our shared history, fostering understanding, and working towards a more inclusive and compassionate future.

As we listened to Carla Kematch and engaged with other participants, it became evident that the event went beyond a simple networking opportunity. It was a moment to reflect on our collective responsibility in the pursuit of truth, reconciliation, and community engagement.

Once again, we express our heartfelt appreciation to Immigration Centre and Abigail Legaspi for orchestrating this meaningful gathering. It has left an indelible mark on our organization, inspiring us to further contribute to the well-being of newcomers and advocate for positive change in the immigration landscape. We eagerly anticipate future collaborations and the continued pursuit of shared goals for the benefit of all.
