Looking for a fun and unique way to enjoy the summer with family and friends? Look no further than Ballet in the Park! This free event is a slice of Winnipeg culture that rivals the nostalgia and fun of the Nutcracker. Enjoy the universal language of dance under the prairie skies as the incredible talents from the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company, Professional Division, and Recreational Division gather in one place to deliver performances that highlight their passion for dance.
Starting at 6:15pm, the activities for each night will be followed by the main performance at 7:30pm, with the night wrapping up around 9pm. The Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company artists will be performing Bleecker & 6th choreographed by Stephan Azulay, which “crackles with energy and infectious joy.” The Senior-level Professional Division students will blend strong classical technique with humorous storytelling in the Fairy Doll pas de trois, the Diana and Acteon grand pas de deux from La Esmeralda, and Adios choreographed for First Steps 2023. And don’t miss the Recreational Division’s Intensive Training Program students performing the remounting of Nicole Kepp‘s Can Can, which was a crowd favourite at Dance Spectrum.
So come and be part of the story this summer and witness firsthand how the dancers within our walls continue to Live the Dream. Enjoy the beauty of the outdoors mixed with the beauty of dance and create unforgettable memories with your loved ones.
